A day with Ms. Eleanor

How is it possible that I have never taken pictures of Elena at PT?  This child of mine has pictures documenting pretty much every day of her life.  Every. damn. day.  She's been with Ms. Eleanor for 6 months...and these are the first photos I've ever taken of them together.  I think I always fear that people are uncomfortable having their picture taken in situations like this.  I don't know why.  So I finally asked her if she'd mind if I captured their moments on film and she gladly obliged us.

PT has been such a big part of her little life.  We only have 3 sessions left before she graduates.  So proud of my little mama and how far she's come.  But it is bittersweet.  We love Ms. Eleanor and she has been so wonderful to us and so helpful.  We sure will miss her.

She has made such incredible progress and her Tort is so much better.  Elena holds mid line like a champ and has no problem passing toys back and forth between her two little hands.  She falls into her comfort spot usually only in the car seat and sometimes when she's getting tired in her highchair.  She still has a tendency to hike that left shoulder up but she's made tremendous improvements and I am incredibly pleased and satisfied with the results.

Since her Tort has gotten so much better, after her stretches we've been working on her gross motor skills.  Ms. Eleanor would love for her to crawl before her time is up. I'm hoping she'll surprise us all before she graduates...I know Ms. Eleanor would love that! She has amazing fine motor skills but she isn't presenting with any desire to pull up to standing so I wonder if the Tort has hindered her gross motor skills.  I'm sure it can happen since one side of her body is essentially weaker from her in-utero position.  She does get up on all 4's and rock and has begun pushing herself, pivoting with her arms, and rolling around to get where she wants. I am not really worried but have her 9 month well visit coming up and plan to ask the good doctor what he thinks.

We're having a lot of fun these days and I can't begin to imagine that I'll have a mobile baby in a short time.  Our adventures are just beginning, I'm sure! Tomorrow marks  Elena being an outside baby as long as she was an inside baby.  Holy wow.  Time sure does fly.
